Theme: “Becoming A Better You”

Planning for the conference
10 girls aged 14-18 from the 7 different high schools within
Orangeburg county will be invited to join in a mentor program.
The young girls will sell doughnuts and cookies to raise money for
the conference. The money will also pay for their spot at the
conference as well.
There will be 4 mentors that will be responsible for the girls. 2
mentors per 5 girls.
The entire conference will be invite only to see if we will have good
feedback from the community to hold future conferences.
The accounting department has agreed to pay for t-shirts that will
be worn by the mentees and mentors as well as two vans that will
pick up the mentees and bring them to the conference. They will
also pay for food for the conference as well.
Schedule of events
Friday- “Mentor-Mentee Day” (Kick-Off)
-There will be a cookout for the mentors and mentees only to
celebrate the beginning of the conference. There will be games
& activities that will encourage the young girls on "Becoming A
Better You"
Saturday- “The Transition” (Seminars)
-There will be two seminars that will be given by the people
within the community that Celena has chosen. The first seminar
would be 10:00-11:00 followed by lunch(included in the
conference fee & accounting budget), then another seminar at
1:00-2:00. There will be a closing ceremony afterward with
certificate presentations given to the seminar presenters.
Sunday- “The Final Project”(Inspirational Day)
-Each Mentee will discuss what she gained from the program and
conference. There will also be a speaker that will give the
audience an inspirational message. There will be light
refreshments and a certificate ceremony following.
