Dear Ms. Benjamin,

 I am seeking employment as the Director of Community Organizer with Corbin-Pettus. I am recent graduate of Claflin University, where I have obtained a BA in Politics and Justice Studies. During the summer of 2011, I worked as the summer Legislative Intern with Assembly woman Annette M. Robinson of the 56^th District. There I was responsible for managing the office, assisting constituents throughout the 56^th District and assisting the Assemblywoman at various special events. During the same summer, I also interned with the Honorable Judge Genine Edwards of Civil Courts of the City of New York. There I was responsible for writing the findings for the civil cases and maintaining office documents and files. With both of these opportunities I gained a better understanding of public service, economic development, and leadership. I demonstrated these skills by volunteering at a Felton Elementary school as English tutor for 5^th grade students.

Strengths that I believe I possess are excellent writing and speaking skills alongside strong communication and interpersonal skills. I am persistent, determined, and energetic and focused. These are some traits and characteristics that I hold and would like to bring to your organization.  I prioritize punctuality and efficiency in my day to day activities and work. If given the opportunity to become a summer intern, my prospective availability is February 20^th, and my hours of availability are flexible and negotiable.

Through stimulating leadership positions, I have established a resilient sense of responsibility, effective interpersonal skills, and the capability to contribute to teamwork.
